Indoor playgrounds are not only a fun place but also a safe area. Most indoor playgrounds offer inflatable slides, obstacle courses, ball pits, interactive toy set ups, play rooms and more. Although playgrounds have been around since a long time, most of the modern indoor playgrounds provide the children much more flexibility and creativity. An indoor playground is much smaller than their outdoor counterpart and the structure that you are contemplating would depend on your children's size, age, level of skill and of course the number of children that would use the playground.

There are various aspects to be considered while buying playground equipment: is there enough room for the equipment? Is the surface under the equipment safe and resilient? Is there enough space between the pieces of the equipment? Is the equipment suitable for the child? Is it easy to maintain? Is it environment friendly? Nowadays it is easy to purchase such items as manufacturers are designing indoor play ground equipment very innovatively.

The most vital element in any indoor playgroundshould be the safety factor; therefore the following should be taken into account:

The floor of the playground should have protection in the form of floor mats that could be made of either rubber or carpet but with enough shock absorbent properties that in case of a fall, the injury is not severe.

A buffer zone should be made under and around all equipment where a child might fall. The protective surfacing material should extend a minimum of 6 feet in all directions from the perimeter of the play ground equipment.

Swing sets should be securely anchored and should not be too close together or too close to support structures. Swing spacing should be at least 8 inches between suspended swings and 8 inches from the support frame. The minimum clearance between the ground and underside of swing seat should be 8 inches.

Playgrounds should be inspected on a regular basis as they have been made for the safety of the children and should cater to this aspect in the fullest sense.
